Feeling a bit drab babes? Time to drape yourself in this delicious textured scarf with tassels. Yep who doesn’t love a bit off tassel action!
Pop some serious colour combos with this tri-colour ribbed scarf. Generously lengthy (if that’s a word!?) it’s fab for draping, wrapping, or tying.
One size fits all
New to this knit shiz? No sweat! This scarf uses simple stitches and is knit flat. The tassels look fancy but they’re easy peasy once you know how (and that’s where we come in!)
6ish hours
Cast on, 1x1 rib, knit, purl, cast off, weaving in edges, tassel making
Knitting this new pattern with the silky, chunky merino wool from @the_joy_make_club has been pure joy from the very first stitch. I’m still a novice knitter, but their how‑to videos made the process feel effortless…like having a kind and patient teacher sitting beside me, guiding my hands.
Every loop, every row, felt like a little victory, and the yarn itself was so soft and luxurious that it seemed to glide through my fingers. It’s been the kind of project that feels almost like reading a perfect book…one you could have finished sooner, but didn’t, because you wanted to savour every chapter. I could have finished days ago, but instead I lingered, letting each row stretch out like a moment I didn’t want to leave. There’s a sweetness in that kind of slow joy, in drawing out something beautiful just to make it last a little longer.
And now, with every soft skein turned into something tangible, I can see not just the awesome pattern I learnt how to do, but the joy woven into it…a keepsake of all those quiet, happy seconds I didn’t want to end! 🩷🩷🩷

I’ve just finished my first knitting project and it’s a winner if I do say so myself! The wool is absolutely gorgeous, super soft and snuggly, easy to knit with, looks luxurious! I have enjoyed every minute (except for the odd not paying attention moment where I may have completely messed it up, and had to unpick the entire thing, but it was a good learning experience!). The video tutorials were super helpful and easy to follow. I’ve had such amazing feedback on my gorgeous scarf and I’m frothing to get into another project already! I think the slipper socks might be the next thing in my cart. Thanks Marnz!
2nd beginner project complete. Loved the first one so much I ordered more wool to make a second that was thinner, shorter and no tassels
Colours are amazing
I was super excited to receive my parcel from Joy Make. The yarn colours were spot on, and the packaging was fun. I opted for the large needles, which when they arrived the tops had fallen off. Marnie sent a replacement, which sadly were crushed on arrival.
My qr code scanner told me to pay $1 for access to the patterns (this is not where the qr code should go, and I'm glad I asked before going ahead).
Instructions were super clear and easy, and I was done in the 6hrs suggested.
For me, I was short of yarn by about 16lines, quite considerable, which meant my tassels were also smaller. A bit annoying, but a colleague suggested it may be to do with my tension; for me, it would have been great to have an intro, maybe a checkbox at checkout to ask your level, and then a card as a complete newbie for into to knitting. Also, I would suggest a box if sending anything that shouldn't get squished in the courier.
Overall I was pretty happy with it, and have had lots of great comments.
Will probably undo it, reduce the number of cast on and make it longer.
Great idea, and intro, and I look forward to seeing what else to make.
Love this pattern. I fiddled about with the colours, and did some smaller colour blocking, and added in some extra teal from my blank slate kit. So in love with my snuggly scarf. And that wool aroma. I keep smelling my scarf 🤣🤣

I had great fun learning and mucking my way through this. the trouble shooting videos were so epic and now I have a gorgeous snuggly scarf for my efforts! I'm so proud of myself.
I am so proud of my scarf it is so snuggly and vibrant. I love the two end colors but I wish I chose a different color for the middle as it doesn't suit my skin tone. BUT I absolutely still love it and I am stoked with how well I did with this (after starting a few times) and I didn't even drop a stitch! Beautiful snuggly soft wool. Such an awesome project for me to undertake as I don't have any hobbies.....but now I do!
